Cinnamon: Ancient writings reflect that using Cinnamon in the home and wearing on the edges of clothes attracts wealth and abundance; besides a flavoring in many recipes, has great medical properties. Cinnamon boosts the activity of the brain and hence acts as a good brain tonic. It helps in removing nervous tension and memory loss. Research at the Wheeling Jesuit University in the USA has proven that the scent of Cinnamon has the ability to boost brain activity. Cinnamon aids in the circulation of blood due to the presence of a blood-thinning compound in it. This blood circulation helps significantly in removing pain. Good blood circulation also ensures oxygen to the body cells leading to higher metabolic activity. You significantly reduce the chance of getting a heart attack by regularly consuming Pure CPTG doTerra Cinnamon. Cleans Gall Bladder of unfriendly germs and eliminates bacteria in Staph Infections.

Emotionally, whatever shift you want to create in your life about your health can be enhanced using this blend – it increases metabolic rates and makes people “feel Good” all over – it literally eliminates the destination cells for fat – so when you achieve your new weight you can resist the urge to replace the excess fat cells.

Sip your flavored water before, between, and after each of your healthy meals throughout the day. Slim & Sassy also makes an excellent addition to water bottles (Use glass or stainless steel containers) or hydration packs during exercise and outdoor activity. You can also drop the oil directly on your tongue or put in a gelatin capsule. Target problem areas or just help to smooth skin in applying Slim & Sassy topically. It may also be used aromatically to lift and calm mood. Apply to areas that you would like to eliminate cellulite – 1:1 with coconut oil or the doTERRA Hand and Body Lotion.

Wellness Wednesday: Migraines & other headaches

Headaches: I have one word for you:
PEPPERMINT.

Headaches can not only be disruptive, they can be physically debilitating.
I have always suffered from headaches.
Now mine are not as bad as the headaches many people I know get.
Mine tend to deal with stress and blood sugar.
But occasionally I get a major whizz-bang migraine.

Those used to lay me out for 3 days, in a dark room, trying not to vomit while living on a diet of nothing but Diet Pepsi.

Not anymore!
In fact, no headache stops me now.

I use Balance daily, and reapply when I get a headache.
I use Slim and Sassy if it is a blood sugar issue: it even out blood sugar and has a good dose of Peppermint in it.
If it is a tension/stress headache I use PastTense: it has some of my favorite oils in it; including Peppermint and Basil.

And
Stress in my life usually leads to
MIGRAINES.
Ugh.
I am weird in that they tend to hit as the stress is decreasing, not in the build up or in the peak.

But that is not ALWAYS the case.

They also tend to give me good warning with some wonky vision.
(I have to admit some of those auras are pretty cool.)

The warning isn't very long, usually only a few minutes but it does give me time to jump to action and treat myself before the migraine takes over my life.

I have my migraine treatment down to 30 minutes, and they have become a nuisance rather than something that brings my life to a screeching halt.

Migraines no longer drop me in bed in a dark room for 2 or 3 days.
Now they are a little ride on the wild side that is 15 minutes or less.

With my schedule, that is a very, very good thing.

My secret?
I use Deep Blue.
On the back of my neck.
More specifically on the base of my brain stem or Suboccipital Triangle.

I also put it on my temples and across my forehead where I get a ring of pain.
I do this A LOT.
Frequently.
Probably about every 15 minutes.

The best part is when I can 'watch' my vision turn back to normal.
I often wonder if this is what people with less than perfect vision feel like when they get glasses or contacts!

I also take DigestZen for the inevitable stomach queasys.

The number one thing that all these recommendations have in common is peppermint.

Like with all healing, different people react better to different things.

Some other ideas for Migraines, and Headaches in general are:

Frankincense, Lavender, Marjoram, PastTense, and Peppermint.
Other things that have had positive result include: Basil, Eucalyptus, Ginger, Roman Chamomile, Rosemary and Wintergreen.

On a side note: I use Balance, Basil, and Rosemary almost daily.
I use Lavender, Marjoram and DigestZen several times a week.
I have used every one of these recommendations with the exception of Ginger, within the last 3 months.

It is interesting that the same things that kick my headaches are the same things I use for my daily life.
I LOVE being a healer in home and having control over my health and the health of my family.
